Grayson 2020 Census

Reasons for the Census

The 2020 Census is essential for our democracy and is provided for by a mandate in the U.S. Constitution.  A census count of the population has been conducted every 10 years in the United States since 1790.

The Census determines how many representatives a state will have in the U.S. Congress.

The Census is used by the federal government to allocate billions of tax dollars for a range of essential government functions. Grayson County, Texas has an estimated $210 million at stake in federal funding over the next 10 years.

The Census is used by businesses to make smart decisions about growth, investment and spending.
